Chapter 1
The Begining
The teenage male, looked down at the darkness beneath him. His eyes widened and then looked up at the 17-foot tall creature several yards away from him. It wore a silver cloak, with several streaks of black around the cloak, one red and one yellow eye could be seen through the dark hood of the cloak, the thing had three cloaked arms; the third arm was beneath the right arm. A red-feathered wing was on the creatures back, and another red feathered wing, but it was half destroyed, "Ken.." said the creature, saying the male teenagers name, "I have no heart.. I should be dead, but.. I am living.. breathing.. I feel nothing, I.. am.. DEATH!" Roared the creature shaking the eternal darkness around it.
Ken a 14-year-old boy with brown hair, green eyes, and whitish tan skin, sat up from his bed in a cold sweat, "Just a bad dream.." He said, his hands still shaking.
He jumped off his bed, but he realized he fell much further then he should of, he looked down and landed on a platform. He looked around at 4 girlish figures, and 3 boyish figures surrounded the lit platform.
Ken stood up unharmed, and looked down at a large silver keyhole on the platform, "What.. what's happening.." Ken said looking around.
"Your destiny." said a dark and mysterious, yet not evil, sounding voice.
The silver keyhole quickly changed into a black heart symbol, with red spikes running through it.
Ken stared at it as a dark aura came up, he touched it and it changed into a golden heart, a bright light shined up from it. Three stones appeared around him, a wand, a sheild, and a sword. Ken went towards the shield, and then the platform broke sending Ken down into darkness. Ken's alarm clock went off, and he sat up on his bed, and hopped off the bed landing on solid ground, "What happened!" He asked, shutting his alarm clock off.
Ken stared at his alarm clock and threw it to the ground, cracking it, but not destroying it. Ken sighed and stumbled out of his room, and sat down at the table, he looked over at a 13-year-old boy, with blackish brown hair, and dark green eyes, along with light tan skin, came over and sat down next to him, "Is mom home?" Asked the boy.
"Shaun, you know she's not home in the morning." Ken said to his little brother Shaun.
"Doesn't hurt to ask." Shaun said laying his head on the table and yawned, "She's always out working, and she usually comes home at 8 in the night."
"She said she might be going on vacation soon, and she might be changing her shifts. So it'll be better soon." Ken said, "Without a Dad, we don't really have a normal life around the house." Ken once again said, remembering his Dad had disappeared when Shaun and himself was young, Ken was 8 when his Dad disappeared.
Ken looked at the clock and stood up, "We're going to be late for school, let's go." Ken said, going back to his room to get dressed. Shaun sighed and went to his own room.
Eight minutes later...
Ken and Shaun walked off the porch, Ken put the house keys in his pocket, Ken stopped to see a 14-year-old boy with brown slightly spiky hair, and gray eyes with light tan skin walk up to him, "Hey Ken, what up Shaun?" Said the boy smiling.
"Nothin' much." Ken said looking around, "So Hunter, where's Mimi?" Ken asked the 14-year-old whose name was obviously Hunter.
"She's running a bit-- oh, there she is." Hunter said, pointing a barely 14-year-old girl with slightly long dirty blonde hair, bluish gray eyes, and very light tan skin.
The girl, who was Mimi, walked up to them, "You ready for school guys?" she said happily, she was getting used to 9th grade, and they had only been there about a month.
"I'm ready.. just not willing to go." Ken said, with a sigh, as he looked over at his younger brother, who also went to high school with them, he was in 8th grade, but 8th graders had been recently added to the farthest side of high school, away from the older kids.
"Bah, c'mon you guys, we have 30 minutes to walk 3 miles let's go!" Hunter said, pushing Ken and Shaun forward, as Mimi just laughed and followed them.
"Easy Hunter, I have a headache. I had a weird dream last night." Ken said, holding his head.
"Weird dream? The one about the cheese shredder and the white squirrel?" Hunter asked Ken.
Ken whacked Hunter upside the head, "No!" he shouted, and walked off.
They began to follow Ken again, "Alright there's the school, and four minutes to spare, let's hurry!" Mimi said, running towards the school, Ken followed as Hunter and Shaun took their sweet time.
"No need to rush right?" Hunter asked Shaun, who nodded, and watched Ken enter the school.
